WIP: Original Figure Sculpt

Just started this new project to sculpt a figure of my own!

Based on this sketch I did:

Here is the beginning armature with some miliput on it:

I built it up with a little more miliput and then throw some La Doll clay over it.  The gun is a 1/6 scale colt Python which I think game from a hot toys Rick from the walking dead:

This is my first time sculpting anything and I don't actually know what I'm doing.... !

Misato on Mini Honda Monkey!

Got around to taking some better pics of my Misato garage kit.  A thanks goes to my friend Linn for letting me use her lightbox thing.

WIP: Cammy (again)

Just started working on another Cammy resin kit.  This one is a bootleg cast of the Kotobukiya bishoujo figure.  Based on the illustration by Yamashita Shunya and sculpted by Busujima Takamaki.

Washed, cleaned, and pinned the kit which was pretty clean cast aside from a big mold line through all of the parts.  Just gave it a first coat of primer and found a few blemishes to fill and sand.  Nothing major so it should be a pretty quick build!

Reflect Cammy

Just found these old pictures of a Cammy garage kit I finished a while back.  Originally sculpted by Yoshizawa Mitsumasa (aka Reflect), it is still one of my favorite sculpts.

Infinity: Anaconda Mercenary TAG

Just finished painting this miniature for Infinity.  Not even sure I can use it in my army with the new rules but it is a cool model either way!

Tried out some new techniques with this one, the biggest change being using the airbrush for laying down the base colors and shading.  The rest is hand painted.

Also gave free-handing those little triangles and stuff a shot.

And a picture for scale.

WIP: Misato and Mini Moto Part 3!

Got busy so this project got put on hiatus for a bit but I was able to finish it up just recently.

Here are some more process pictures:

Primed Misato using Mr. Resin Primer.

A few pinholes on her back so I dabbed a bit of primer, sanded, then reprimed.

Didn't get an pictures of just the base colors, but I airbrushed them will vallejo model color.
For her jeans I hand painted the white on the fringes and dry-brushed white over the rest to pull out the texture.  Buttons painted with Vallejo liquid silver then put a light black wash over them to dull them down.

Hours of masking for 15 minutes of airbrushing!  The green stuff is liquid mask to fill in the smaller gaps.

More masking for the blacks...  Cleaned up the stripes by hand later.

Cleaned up her kicks by hand and did a light wash over them.

It's Misato!  Hand painted her eyes and mouth.

There were some gaps where her hair met her face so after gluing it on, I had to fill some of the seams and repaint them.

Goggles! and masking the strap on her head...

Setting u for the base.  I used a black picture frame and a sheet of foggy white acrylic.

After some thought I decided it would be cool to do some lighting in the base.  Got this flexible LED setup from Ikea and stuck it to the inside of the picture frame.  It also changes colors!
